Bair Alaska Salmon Fishing

Expert Guided Kenai River Salmon Fishing Trips

At Bair Alaska, we offer unforgettable Kenai River salmon fishing day trips, targeting Alaska’s prized King, Sockeye, and Silver Salmon. With the latest ADFG regulations in place, we ensure a responsible and rewarding fishing experience on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers.

King Salmon (Chinook) – The Mighty Trophy Fish

King salmon are the largest and most powerful of Alaska’s salmon species, making them a prized catch for anglers. These giants can weigh 30 to 80+ pounds, offering an intense battle when hooked.

However, Kenai River king salmon fishing is closed for 2025, meaning no catch-and-release or harvest is allowed due to conservation efforts. But don’t worry—king salmon can still be targeted on the Kasilof River, where hatchery kings are available for fishing. Regulations include single-hook, no-bait restrictions during peak months (June and July), ensuring sustainable fishing practices while still allowing for exciting king salmon action.

Sockeye Salmon (Reds) – The Fighter

Sockeye salmon, commonly called "reds" for their brilliant coloring, are one of the most aggressive and energetic fish to catch. These salmon average 5 to 12 pounds and are known for their relentless swimming power, making them an exciting challenge on light tackle.

Both the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers remain open for sockeye harvest, with daily limits ranging from 3 to 6 fish, depending on run strength. Peak sockeye runs occur in June and July, filling the rivers with thousands of fish and creating one of the best fishing experiences Alaska has to offer.

Silver Salmon (Coho) – The Acrobat

Silver salmon are fast, aggressive, and notorious for their aerial acrobatics, making them a favorite among anglers. These 8 to 15-pound fish strike hard and put up an exciting fight on the line.

Silver salmon fishing is open on both the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers, with a daily limit of 2 fish. Peak runs happen from late July through October, providing consistent action throughout the season.

Regulation Compliance & Licensing

Before heading out, anglers must have:
Alaska Sport Fishing License (required for all anglers 16+)
King Salmon Stamp (required for Kasilof trips targeting kings but not needed for Kenai in 2025)

At Bair Alaska Fishing, we stay fully updated on ADFG regulations, ensuring every angler enjoys a legal and sustainable fishing experience. Whether you’re chasing sockeye or silver salmon, our expert guides will help you navigate the latest rules while landing incredible fish.
